Tuesday was a crazy day in third grade. We had our grand friends in for lunch, our biography presentations, and a Valentine's Day card exchange. For the card exchange, Lydia suggested that we all sit in a circle so we could open cards together. It was so cute. These kids are truly a family.

Biography Day!
These kids are beyond amazing. I am so proud of their performance. They did such a nice job speaking in front of a huge group. A big thanks goes out to all the parents who helped the kids come up with wonderful costumes.

Making beeswax candles and Valentine cards with our 5th grade partners.

This morning, the children wrote a TOP SECRET paper about their future Valentines.  After that, they joined Eliza and made little mice out of paper hearts. Cute!

The bank was operated this week by Kieran and Ireland

Bankers are in charge of cashing out the pay stubs. Bankers also help students make sure that they have a minimal collection of cash and coins in their bank box.
Ella assists Jarod at City Hall

City Hall clerks collect a 10% tax based on the student's weekly earnings. Clerks then calculate the net salary, verify the pay stub, and record it in a ledger.

Lena was the job supervisor this week.

The job supervisor makes sure that students do their daily work and they record it on a chart. On pay day they use the chart to determine the weekly earnings. They then use that information to fill out a portion each child's pay stub.

Lydia and Evan are hard at work at our classroom store.

The store clerk and manager help customers. As store employees they are responsible for adding up purchases and making change. They also look at the inventory and decide if a item needs to go on sale.
